003_CastleVBuilt in stages over more than 200 years, Castleview House has enjoyed a colourful evolution and use, illustrations of which may be found in the Heritage Neuk on the first floor.

Welcome to Castleview House

Guests can enjoy the whole house, including a lounge area with a wood burning stove (fuel provided) to relax, read, play games and watch DVDs on a large screen television.

We have also provided an iPod dock with CD player. There is an extensive library and both games and jigsaws are available to use in the lounge.

We have free Wi-Fi available for anyone wishing to check their e-mails and mobile phones will work here. In the lounge, you will also find a wealth of tourist information about the area to help you explore further.

The dining room will seat up to eight and the kitchen, complete with its breakfast bar for two, has modern appliances, including: electric double oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. You can do your laundry, with both an iron and ironing board available. All bed linen and towels are provided.

A comprehensive range of  cooking utensils and gadgets can be found in the kitchen, should you wish to create your own home-cooked meal, Ann has tried to take account of every occasion for you. Alternatively, Kirkcudbright offers a good range of eating out or takeaway opportunities, details of which may be found in our Guest Information presenter.

Castleview House enjoys excellent outdoor seating, both to the front of the house which faces to the west for the afternoon and evening sun, and on the verandah at the rear which overlooks the adjoining park, facing east to make the most of the morning sun.

We have also provided a BBQ for guests to use and there are a table and chairs and a king-size swing seat where guests are welcome to sit outside and relax.

We have ample off-road parking for up to three cars, and secure storage for any fishing equipment, bikes or golf clubs, etc. Additional on-street parking is available nearby.

Children are welcome and we have provided a Mamas & Papas travel cot, plus a Kingswood high chair for your convenience. Dogs are also welcome for an additional £20 payment per dog, per week.

Please note that Castleview House is a No Smoking property. However, there is no bar to your enjoying a fine cigar, or its equivalent, on one of our lovely verandahs.
